Pam DeDea

Associate Pastor

Pastor Pam DeDea joined our Pastoral Staff January 1, 2019.  She received her call to ministry later in life and comes as experienced leader in the secular world where she worked in the commercial real estate industry.  Her secular career prepared her for life in ministry with the complex people skills she learned from being a consumer, manager, consultant and leader.  She was an advocate for tenant needs, grievances and opportunities for the properties she managed.  She was a governing voice for Landlords, tenants, in negotiations and working relationships with land developers, contractors, and government agencies.  The complexity of these interpersonal relationships empowers and equips Pastor Pam in her pastoral care and church management skills.  She brings a vast amount of life experience that allows her to relate, connect and interact with our congregation.

She serves as an Associate Pastor that oversees the ministries of our church, leading Bible Studies and overseeing family ministries.  She was instrumental in bringing the Breakaway Respite Ministry to our church which is a much-needed ministry for our entire community.  Breakaway provides purpose and meaning for those living with memory issues, providing memory skill activities, socialization and physical therapy to its participants, and offers the care giver with necessary time for self-care.  She serves on the Board of Aldersgate Emmaus as the Assistant Spiritual Director and encourages everyone to participate in the Walk To Emmaus as a way to grow in spiritual maturity and as a tool to be a better leader within the church and community.  She strives to be connected with the community through working closely with the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and serving as a Board member of the South Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce.  She strongly promotes school-church partnerships to meet the needs of the children in our community.

She will receive her Master of Divinity degree in May of 2021 and she will be Commissioned as Provisional Elder in June of 2021.  She received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC. She is married to Steve who is a Certified Lay Minister and serves as Music Director at First Wauchula UMC.  They are a strong ministry team working to grow God’s kingdom here on earth.  They have two grown children, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three furbabies Charles, Abbie, and Gracie.
