(Under the Cross)
The children and youth ministries here at SCCUMC offers an incredible spiritual journey for their young minds and hearts. Our groups consist of Kids Club and UTC Youth (Under the Cross Youth). Our children and youth are led by tremendous leaders and the most amazing volunteers whose number one goal is to raise our children to be disciples for Jesus Christ. We strive to keep God close in all that we do. We enjoy our blessings and honor our Lord through fellowship, worship, praise, games, music, and food! Dinner is served weekly during our lessons. It is important that our children understand that ALL are welcome, ALL are accepted as they are, and ALL are loved. Our vision for our children is simple and spoken directly from Jesus
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Matthew 22:37-39

UTC Youth Olympic Games
From Our Youth Leader
Hello UTC family,
As you all are aware, we have been meeting in person again for a few months. I am happy & excited to be able to see you all on a regular basis again.
I know that the last 17 months have been a roller coaster for all of us, but we are making it through these crazy times together. Matthew 18:20 says “When two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” And I find this to be true based on our recent Monday night Youth meetings.
We started out slow with a different type of lesson than we had done before, incorporating videos and small groups to discuss the topic at hand. More recently, we shifted gears and had a special night where we brought in our local Olympian, Jake Ilardi, who we sponsored in his dream of competing in the Tokyo Olympics.
Keeping the momentum from Jake’s visit, we kicked off our own version of the Olympics right here in Sun City Center. We had as many as 23 Olympians on 3 different teams, Corinthians, Romans, and Galatians, participate on a single evening in our games. As our games recently ended, we were able to award medals to all our Olympians. The Galatians put up a great fight and earned the bronze medal, the Corinthians were a tough team and brought home the silver medal, and the Romans were the toughest team to take down earning the gold medal. All our teams had fun and were taught important lessons that corresponded with the games of that evening prior to the competition starting.
We do have a few interesting themes coming up, so stay tuned and keep coming on Monday nights, and bring your friends to experience the Spirit move among us.
“We know that in everything God works for good with those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.” -Romans 8:28 (RSV).
My phone is always on if anyone feels the need to talk about anything that may be on their mind.
Love in Christ,
