(Jesus and Me)
6:00pm - 8:00pm
The children and youth ministries here at SCCUMC offers an incredible spiritual journey for their young minds and hearts. Our groups consist of JAM (Jesus and Me) and UTC Youth (Under the Cross Youth). Our children and youth are led by tremendous leaders and the most amazing volunteers whose number one goal is to raise our children to be disciples for Jesus Christ. We strive to keep God close in all that we do. We enjoy our blessings and honor our Lord through fellowship, worship, praise, games, music, and food! Dinner is served weekly during our lessons and breakfast is served before Sunday school. It is important that our children understand that ALL are welcome, ALL are accepted as they are, and ALL are loved. Our vision for our children is simple and spoken directly from Jesus
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Matthew 22:37-39

From our Youth
Hello Church Family!!!
It has been another amazing month!! Last month we went on our Fall Retreat and this retreat has been like no other. The theme for this retreat was ARMY OF GOD! We learned and discussed how we can be great soldiers for God. We talked about the armor of God. We learned of the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit. We learned how we can use the armor of God in our everyday lives. We talked about the importance of each piece of armor and how it could bring us closer to God. We understood that each piece of armor was a way to protect us from letting Satan into our hearts and minds. But we also realized that each piece of armor was a good way to KEEP and PROTECT God in us. A bible verse that went really well with our retreat is Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” We had such an incredible time with the activities. We did some really fun team building activities where we actually managed to grow closer to each other. We were able to do the rope course. The two activities we were able to do was the “catwalk” and the “leap of faith”. Both of them included harnesses and ropes and helmets and courage and a lot faith…but was really an amazing experience. And as always with our retreats we were able to open up completely and allow God in while we worshiped. We had some very emotional moments that were needed for quite a few of us. A few of the other youth wanted to say a few words about the retreat, Anthony says, “It was an opportunity for me to make a stronger relationship with God and the other youth.” Liam said “It was a nice vacation for me to make a stronger relationship with God and the other youth.” Uvaldo said “God really showed himself and I felt like I got some stuff off my chest.” Donaldo wanted to say “We all got closer, it was a great and moving experience, and we learned and got closer to God.” We had such an amazing, wonderful, life changing experience and we couldn’t be more grateful. The Youth would like to thank you for making this trip possible. This trip was definitely like no other and I will remember this retreat for the rest of my life. God bless you all!!
