Pastor Yamiley Martinez is originally from Cuba. After graduating from the University as a Registered Nurse, she began her ministry as a local missionary in her home church in Aguada de Pasajeros and went to Seminary in Matanzas, where she also served as professor later on. After being a founding member of the Methodist Seminary in Havana and teaching in it for four years, she left Cuba with her husband Roberto and twin sons David and Daniel in 2010 to live in Mexico, where she got acquainted with the culture. Little after her arrival to the United States she understood God had been training her as she helped start our vibrant Hispanic congregation here at The UMC of Sun City Center with people originally from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. She enjoys doing ministry with her family and the multiethnic leadership of our church.
