Center 4Life Learning is having a one day class that will review cable TV and phone alternatives. Cable offering from Spectrum and Frontier, like the 'triple play" (TV, Internet, and Phone) will be discussed, and alternate sources with their limitations, will be explained. Alternatives like broadcast TV, Streaming Services and devices like Roku and the Amazon Fire Stick will be described. Get your entertainment, information and news, using and paying for only the Internet. Come and see the alternatives so you can make your own "cut the cord" decision. Our instructor will be Phil Sorrentino, who is well known for his knowledge of technology. Registration required for class on Monday, December 9th, 2019 is $7.00. Friendship Circle Christmas Luncheon
We would like to invite all Ladies to join us for a Christmas Luncheon, Monday, December 9that 12:30PM. in Room 19. Reservations should be called to Anne at 813-633-4031. Cost of the Luncheon is $10.00. Our wonderful Fellowship Committee and Cook--Kirk have planned, prepared and will be serving us. We will have devotions, a beautiful Concert presented by Marleta Newberg and, most importantly, a time of Friendship and Joy. Order Your Poinsettia Today
Beautiful Poinsettias add a festive and joyous touch to our Sanctuary and are available for purchase. This is a beautiful way to remember loved ones. The poinsettia are $10.00 each. Please drop off check at the office and indicate the names of your loved ones by December 16th. Poinsettias may be picked up on Friday, December 27th between 8:30am and 12:30pm on the patio.
Children's Home Update
To the congregation of the UMCSCC - a big thank you for the support of the Children's Home. The September 29th Fifth Sunday offering was $1708.00 bringing our total contributions to $12,770.00 toward the goal of $15,756. There is one more Fifth Sunday Offering this year on December 29th. Please keep the Children's Home in your prayers.

Christianity and World Religions: Wrestling with Questions People Ask
Why are there so many different religions? How should Christians view other religions? How is God at work inn other religions? Presenter Adam Hamilton will describe how Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism began, present some of their essential teaching and suggest ways in which they differ from and are similar to Christianity. We will be offering two opportunities to participate in this 6 week study beginning Tuesday January 7 through February 11 in room 19. Join the discussion at either 10:00am or 6:30pm. The mission team is sponsoring a trip on Thursday, January 16th. The tour will leave the church at 8:30AM and return around 3:30PM. Lunch will be at eh Cracker Barrell after the tour. Empty Bowls - 'Save the Date'
The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center will be hosting an 'Empty Bowls' Event on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 11:00am until 2:00pm. Empty Bowls is an international project created to fight hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level. For a $15.00 donation, guests will select on of the bowls and will be served a meal of soup, bread and water. These participants will then take home their bowl as a reminder of how many bowls go empty around the world. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the underprivileged in the South Hillsborough County community.
Uganda Mission Trip 2020
February 27th - March 8th, 2020

Mary Petro Continues to Serve
The Mary Petro Food and Medicine Fund continues to assist qualifying permanent residents of Sun City Center and Kings Point with their food and medicine needs. Persons who have an annual income of $17,000 or less are eligible for the program. Residents may apply for assistance by filling out an application available at the Mary Petro Fund Office at the Sun City Center United Methodist Church at 1210 Del Webb Blvd. W; Sun City Center, FL. 33573. Vials of Life
The Emergency Squad has a program that involves putting a pill container in the butter compartment of your refrigerator with the form filled out listing wital information about you. It is a very handy tool for them to expedite their information gathering while trying to assist you. The next four Sundays there will be bins on the patio to place your old prescription bottles in . We are only in need of 3 inch high bottles. Please remember to remove the label.
