Messiah Easter Cantata

Palm branches waving, shouts of loud “Hosannas”; Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord! Hosanna in the Highest! Today is the beginning of Holy Week. Do not be seduced by the palms. While today is a day of recognizing Jesus as the long awaited Messiah and King, we remember that before the week was over, Jesus had been betrayed, denied, arrested, tried and crucified. Let us join in waving our palm branches this morning. Let us be blessed by the Cantata presented by the Chancel Choir in the Traditional Services and by Pastor Ryan's message in the Contemporary Services. And let us continue to journey with Jesus throughout this week of passion, pain and suffering. May today and the events (and special services) of this week truly prepare us for Easter.

    From our Senior Pastor:
This morning we join with the children and the crowds as we wave palm branches, shout hosanna and welcome Jesus to Jerusalem as the Messiah. Holy Week has begun and in the ensuing week Jesus will share a Passover meal and Last Supper with his disciples. He will be betrayed and denied. He will be arrested, tried, sentenced to death and crucified. I hope you will gather with us this week for the special services of Maundy Thursday Communion and the Good Friday Service of the Shadows. It is this week that makes the Resurrection and Easter possible.

Our thanks to Jeff Jordan, the Chancel Choir, our special musicians,Valerie Southwell, the Contemporary Praise Team and the entire worship team for the Cantata this morning. We are blessed beyond measure with so many gifted people who share and minister with their gifts in music and worship arts. Hosanna.  Blessed is He who Comes in the Name of the Lord!
