Pastora Yamiley Martinez  

Hispanic Pastor

Pastora Yamiley Martinez was born and grew up in Cuba, where she first got her degree in Nursing and years later in Theology. She served as Professor of Christian Education and Pastoral Care in the Matanzas Theological Seminary and the Methodist Seminary in Havana, Cuba. After coming to the United States, she helped start the Hispanic Ministry at UMCSCC and in July of 2013 she joined our Staff as part time Hispanic pastor. She is married and has twin sons.

Rev. Mark Mangum                  

Executive Director of Operations

Mark Mangum grew up in Deerfield Beach just north of Fort Lauderdale.  Mark became active in his home church, Trinity UMC, Lighthouse Point, as early as Elementary School age through High School.  Mark answered his call to ministry while in High School and attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland earning a Bachelor of Sacred Music with a concentration in vocal performance.

Mark married his college sweetheart, Jennifer, and they have celebrated 32 years of marriage. 

Mark also earned a Master of Divinity from Duke University and Master of Business Administration from Walden University.


Jeff Jordan                            

 Director of Worship Arts

Jeff Jordan is Director of Worship Arts. He has degrees in music from the Florida State University and the University of Texas at Austin, and has also attended Westminster Choir College in New Jersey, Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and the Juilliard School in New York City. Jeff oversees our music, drama, and visual arts teams and is the Artistic Director of several local chorus’.    


Jeff Collins                              

Director of Children/Youth

Jeff Collins has traveled extensively in full-time ministry across the US and abroad; ministering in youth and adult services, youth camps, purity conferences and public and private schools.  Throughout, he has focused on Biblical principles with a primary emphasis on abstinence for young people and living a pure life for adult congregations. Presently, Jeff is teaches 5th grade  in Hillsborough County.


Pat Hill  

Director of Ministries

Pat Hill was born in Ontario, Canada and attained her US Citizenship in 2011. Having left management of a successful advertising agency, Pat has served in churches for twenty-seven years in Youth, Children and Educational Ministries. Pat excels in recruiting and training volunteers.  She and her husband, Les, are parents of two children: Cameron and Ashley and are proud of their three grandsons.


Tiffani Martinez      

Executive Administrative Assistant

 Tiffani Martinez, our Administrative Assistant, is a true Floridian having grown up in Ruskin.  She has a background in Criminology from the University of South Florida and has worked in the insurance industry.  Prior to her current staff position, she served as Director of Youth Ministry.  Tiffani and her husband, Bobby, live on a small farm in Ruskin and are proud parents of two beautiful daughters:  Kayliana and Alinea.

Priscilla Brant

Business Manager

Priscilla is from all over Florida. She is a Preacher’s Kid and has worked in churches her entire life.  She has recently moved back to Florida from Alaska where she ran a lodge for one of the churches in Alaska. Before Alaska she was the Christian Education Director for 14 ½ years at a church here locally.  She has one child, Jared, who is her pride and joy.  She enjoys quiet evenings with her 2 shih-Tzu’s Ruby and Sissy.  She also loves to fish and says “she will out fish anyone”.   


Debbie Gross
Membership Development Coordinator

Debbie has a background in office management.  She and her husband Sam moved here from Dallas, and reside in Apollo Beach.  They have two adult sons, Jesse & wife Rebecca (Ruskin) and Eric (Phoenix).  Debbie considers herself blessed to be living close to family and friends.  God has been so good to them, she can’t help but give back, and loves serving in the church office.  Both Debbie and her husband are Air Force veterans and met each other at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota, and have been married for almost 30 years.  If you ask her, she will say she outranked him before they married! 


Valerie Southwell


 Valerie is a native of the State of New York. She received her degree in Music Education with a performance major in piano, organ and clarinet from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon and also studied Music Education at Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. In her first Music Director/Organist position in 1977, she discovered her true passion in the Music Ministry. Since then, she has served several churches in Pennsylvania and Florida. Valerie is a member of the American Guild of Organists and the Music teachers National Association.

Amarin Cannon
Audio/Visual/Lighting Supervisor

 Amarin is a Navy brat who grew up across the country; however, she has called Apollo Beach her home since 2011. She holds a M.S. in Media and Communication Studies from Florida State University along with a B.A. in Communication from Florida Gulf Coast University. Her educational background includes a focus in film production and visual communication, along with minors in global studies and journalism. When she is not on campus, she is behind the lens producing media for Tampa’s Lowry Zoo.




Amanda Jordan
Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Amanda is originally from Paducah, Kentucky but has lived in Florida for the past 16 years. She has 3 children, Weston age 20 who just got married, Julia age 16 and Isabelle age 15 whom she adores. She is married to Jeff Jordan, Director of Music and the Arts and helps lead the Praise Team on Sunday mornings. She has her Associates Degree in Graphic Design and loves working on websites and print publications. God has blessed Jeff and Amanda greatly by bringing them to this church where they have been for the past 9 years and they are deeply thankful!



Karen Thorne

Karen was born and raised in PA until moving to Florida in 2013 with her husband Scott.  In PA,  Karen  worked as a Unit Secretary at a local hospital before changing careers to Victim Services.  As a supervisor at the  PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency she managed grants for victim service programs as well as provided advocacy, crisis intervention and financial reimbursement for survivors of violent crime.  After moving to Florida Karen worked at Homewood Assisted Living as a receptionist before becoming part of the United Methodist Church staff family in April of 2017. Karen and her husband Scott have a blended family of three children and two grandchildren.  Karen’s husband is retired from the United States Air Force and they spend their time together exploring Florida and kayak fishing.  Although Karen does not touch the fish!
