Be a part of this spectacular outreach event as we gather with our neighbors to celebrate South Shore’sgrand opening at their new location on Big Bend Rd!
 
Mark your calendars for Friday, August 27th from 5:00-8:00pm for an evening of fun and fellowship with guests from our surrounding community. There will be free food, crazy games, awesome worship music, bouncy houses, as well as participation from community representatives from the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the YMCA, and more! The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center is invited to celebrate this grand opening with us. Thank you!

SOUTH SHORE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

August 14, 2010 there will be FREE Back to School Physicals and Immunizations to school-aged children (K-12) who will enter Florida schools for the first time.  Dental work will also be provided.   All of this is FREE and medical professionals are donating their services.  For more information look for the flyers on the announcement board.

South Shore is collecting socks and underwear for the event.  Last year 416 students were served.  All sizes are welcome.  Most needed are sizes 6 - 8 -10 -12, for elementary students.  Boys love boxers, and usually only receive 1 pair along with briefs.   For girls, high cuts are okay but no bikini. 

Their goal is to have each child receive underwear and socks for each day of the week. You may drop off your donations before the end of the month with Amanda in the office. Thank you.

FELLOWSHIP IS HEATING UP

In August, the Potluck is back on Tuesday, August 10 at 6:00 in Creason Hall, hosted by Shirley and Dick Walker. Meat will be provided; just bring your favorite dish to share and your table setting.

The 30th Anniversary Heritage Cookbook Project is progressing on schedule. All recipes must be submitted to the church office, or placed in the baskets provided in the Main Sanctuary narthex and in Creason Hall, by July 1. The cookbooks will be available for purchase beginning in November, just in time for Christmas.

Once a month, The United Methodist Church has a movie in Creason Hall.  We have light refreshments at 6:00 PM and movie at 6:30 PM.  Bring a friend, have some popcorn and be blessed by it!  A love offering may be taken at the door.

Our church will be taking part in the Chick-fil-A Leadercast has been postponed until fall.  This event is designed to maximize the effectiveness and impact of your leadership.
