CONGREGATIONAL CARE NEEDS YOUR ASSISTANCE
We visit UMC members in Nursing Homes and other Care Facilities.  We call on Home Bound who can no longer attend church. If you know of members who can no longer attend church, please either call the church office or put the information on your Attendance Card.

Thank you for helping us with this important Ministry to bring the Spirit of the Church to those who can no longer attend.

  •  Hospital Visitation/Respite Care/Visiting Homebound/Transportation are part of Congregational Care.  Our information comes from the patient themselves, a family member, friend or the United Methodist list at the front desk in the hospital. The pastors visit the South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center every day. Also, the pastors visit other hospitals in the Tampa Bay Area as needed.  Members of the Congregational Care Team also visit hospitals, nursing homes, respite care facilities, and homebound.
  • Pastoral Visits are part of Congregational Care. If a member or a friend of the church wants a pastoral visit, call the office and a pastor will visit and have prayer with you.
  • Birthday and Anniversary Cards.  Another area of Congregational Care ministry is the sending of cards at anniversaries and birthdays to members of the church.

40 Days of Community Project Continues!
Anchor House at Port Manatee
"Ditty Bag" Program

Again this year, the 40 Days of Community Group is seeking help from the congregation in their efforts to support the “Ditty Bag” program sponsored by the Anchor House at Port Manatee. International seafarers utilize Anchor House to place international phone calls, shop in the store, read magazines as well as Bibles written in many languages and order light meals at the luncheonette counter. Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, volunteers will give out over 800 “Ditty Bags” to seafarers. Each bag is made from a knit cap. Usually ten of the following suggested items are included in each bag:

Shampoo/Conditioner
Bar Soap
Disposable Razors
Deodorant
Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
Aftershave
Combs
Hand Lotion
Lip Balm
White Tube Socks
Tissue Packets
Note Pads
Fingernail Clippers
Pens Emory
